Ordinarily, I wouldn't post a note about free SYWR points, because people seem to get them at varying times; if, say, I got some today, you might not for a few weeks.

However, we have two SYWR accounts, and both of them got emails with the subject, "A thank-you gift for being a member in 2013!". Both contained $5 in points, so I am assuming most or all members got the email as well. So FYI, you might want to check your inbox if you usually ignore SYWR emails.

For -$5, you can pick up a variety of Channellocks for around $10-$11. Some Craftsman Pro screwdriver singles drop to $2-$3 (I used periodic SYWR points over a few months to put together a full set of Cman Pro slotted and phillips for about $15-$20). Craftsman USA cold chisels and pin punches are anywhere from Free to $3.

Prices at Sears are currently somewhat inflated so they can offer fake 'discounts' for the after-Thanksgiving sales, so you might be better off holding on to the $5 for a couple of days, keeping in mind the expiration date.

Got them and used them on a spark plug socket set that I have been needing for awhile. Thanks for the head's up. It has been a long time since they have given me any free points like this.

The date they pick to send out free point offers is the same for every member. Whether or not you will be actually be selected to receive a point offer and which type of offer varies.

Black Friday threw a curveball in the dates, but this week it's back to the normal Thursday to Wednesday period. However, they are calling it a 'gift'.

My secondary account got $8...my primary one got nothing. I had a few things in my cart already, so this just sweetened the deal!

Dumb question, but how the heck do you check? Do they automatically add to your points? As you can tell, I never really visit the reward site.

Thanks, Tater, for making me feel so much better about my measly $866 I've spent on tools in the last 2 months.
In fact, I think maybe I should go do a little more tool shopping now.

Tater I think you do. What the heck did you buy? I've never spent more than $2000 there in one year. That was with the stainless toolbox. That looks like when I checked my Advance Auto Parts yearly total. It was $10,800 and I'm not a business. Two 6-71 blowers skewed that a bit.

Just used mine to buy the 8pc screwdriver set thinking for $4 I could handle the made in China set. Just picked it up and received a USA set! Even better!

I've got 6 bucks in bonus points. That coupled with all the points accumulated from the three 26" boxes I recently purchased and some smaller items...puts this craftsman top box w/the Craftsman Club discount at about 200 even plus tax.

Very, very tempting...

No SYWR points for me. I have 6 points to use before 12-31

There is a coupon on the SYWR page for $100 and get $20 in points is someone buying enough.

The last time I got bonus points was twice last year before Xmas

I have yet to see any sign of Chinese Craftsman screwdrivers.

You can stack that $20 in points with the $10 off $100 coupon as well.

I got $5 worth and ordered a socket for in-store pick up. I like to do it that way so I don't have to mess around in the store.

I got the $5 as well. I only opened the account a year ago and I have only spent a few hundred dollars at Sears. Yet this is the 4th time in the last 6 months I have got $5. I have been just spending $6 or 7 each time on miscellaneous torx drivers and mini phillips screwdrivers and a few sockets.

Just wondering who gets the free point. I use a credit card not sears to buy

Who uses cash or

a sears card. Do you get more points using their card?

Right now up until christmas we are offering 10% back in points on purchases made with a sears card. On top of that they also offer 5% off the price when you use a sears card

How do I go about spending my SYWR points?

I have money in points to spend, and I've had money in there for a long time, according to my history, but they haven't been spent or applied on my purchases. I accumulate more points, but I don't know how to spend them.

EDIT-
I think I figured it out. I guess I have to shop for items through the SYWR website to redeem my points?

if buying online there's a option at checkout or I store give them your phone number and say I'd like to redeem x amount of points on this purchase

SMKS, when I buy online, I just login to my sears.com account and the SYWR points are automatically available (most of the time, sears.com is a real piece of ****). If you don't see your points, you might need to link your SYWR account to your sears.com account, but I couldn't tell you how to do that. My SYWR and sears logins are the same.
