I'll moving to a new house on the other side of the country soon, and I'm evaluating what stuff I'm keeping versus transporting. Have lived in an apartment a long time. I got a 3 drawer Snap On cart with large open bottom that's lived on my outdoor patio. Similar to the HF 5-drawer cart everyone here loves.
I never loved this cart. It has three drawers on top and a big open area on the bottom. One lift up top area. I wish it had all drawers. I haven't found a use for the bottom open area. BUT since I'm moving into a house, my needs will change. And I'm wondering if this cart makes sense or sell it and set up something else. I'll be moving into a 1500 sq foot 3/2 with a 1.5 car garage.
I plan to do all of my own handyman stuff around the house and a lot of my own car repairs. Might even get into fixing up older reliable cars from auction as a hobby like early 2000s Toyotas for practice and resale.
I won't have a huge garage so I dont foresee wheeling this around a car I'm working on. Would just live against the wall probably.
Can you guys talk me into keeping this? I guess I could wheel it into the driveway to do work out there. But wouldn't I rather have a full drawer setup that has like 8 or 10 drawers and I can put all of my tools?
Or is this supposed to just be the MAIN CORE tools like 8mm to 19mm wrenches, sockets 5mm up to 24mm, basic pliers and screwdrivers. Wheel that out into the driveway. If I need more specialized tools, I walk back into the garage but all of the common tools are on this cart.
Still not sure what to put on the bottom shelf. Or maybe "nothing" is fine most of the time, because maybe I just "need" it for the three main drawers and top area, and having it be lighter and easier to move. Maybe it's my 90% tool kit that and I dont need more than 3 drawers to accomplish that?
