same problem here...very upsetting! And why should you have to hit the "remember me box". Is there a time limit that we are permitted on here? You can't stay as long as you want? WTF? OK....just a little more than "upsetting".
OK....just read about the cookies in a previous posted question so I did try that and we will see if that helps. Thanks.

What browser are you using?

This may be a security setting in your cookies, that you're not letting any cookies be accepted from sites. You can add this site to the list of exceptions (permitted sites). I had a similar issue a few weeks ago with Firefox. Once I cleared all the cookies and stored exceptions and started fresh, it was fine.

The weirdness continues, I uninstalled IE9 and went back to 8, the problem persists. All security is the same etc.

WTF?

I have had the same problem as well running IE8 and Chrome. It is very annoying...

The welcome still shows me logged in but it wants me to log in again:mad:

I have the same problem in Firefox. I always click remember me and it will log me out during the day sometime.

Again, I go all week with no log out problems and the weekend comes around again? The log out problem comes back in the middle of a post even when logged in:headscrat....

Only here it happens:(.....

This also keeps happening to me, on different computers.

I don't mind so much when it logs me out if I'm in the middle of making a post that takes a long time, but very frequently what happens when I get logged out in the middle of an update is when it brings me to the sign in page and I fill out my info, it takes me to an error page that tells me my log in process cannot be completed because I am already logged in - even though I cannot post since it logged me out. I end up having to close down the entire browser, open it all up again and start fresh. I just have to remember to hit Ctrl + C before I close down:D

A solution to this would be grand.

Same problem.
I used to have it on another site.
They fixed it some how.
I often go to my WP program to compose a reply and then copy it into the reply box.
But I do that everywhere.
This is the only site where I have the problem.

This is happening to me as well and only with this site. I'll try clearing the cookies and see what happens.

Just a reminder to make sure you tick the remember me box when you logon.

This has been tried and does not work along with clearing the cookies. The problem comes and goes and does seem to be on this site only regardless of the browser you are using:headscrat. I have personally given up on the problem and admin does not seem to care I guess. I copy what I write now and if it happens, I just log back in again and do the redo post. The forum software does go through different revisions and maybe at some point the glitch will be fixed. Till then the people haveing the problem will just have to deal with it:thumbup:

Still the same problem - keeps logging me out after a few minutes. You would think that with the advertising and number of users on this site - the owners could afford either the bandwidth needed or servers to handle the load.

FWIW,

Send a PM to Ryan as I am sure he also wants to work out why this is an issue for you.

I had and exchange of PMs with Ryan about month ago and said he was in contact with vBulletin. He said he would get back to me when he heard something from them but never did. I guess the problem is still happening and has not been corrected.....

when i check the box "stay logged in" i then fill in my screen name and password and continue, if i am idle for 10 minutes or busy reading or scrolling i get logged out. it pisses me off. i have also cleared cookies and did not help. i also used the setting in the computer "remember passwords" and use master password.... no luck

PM him again as I am sure it will remind him to follow up and find an answer.

Not 100% sure but if you check your settings you may find it will log you out after idle time and you may need to change that.:dunno:

I can understand how it annoys you as I had a similar issue on the HAMB and we could not work it out.

I frequent other sites that use Vbulletin, and have no problems,
this site continues to log me off after few minutes,
and the powers that be continue to blame everyone else,
maybe they should ask someone who knows, as it kinda obvious they are NOT
in the know!
love the site, but face it, your not up to date on the technology.

and please don't compare it to the hamb, that site is the most screwed up place on earth, most everyone I know will agree, the hamb is just plain GAY.

On one hand it is good to know that I am not the only one that is experincing this situation. However, looking at the dates on the posts it has been a known problem for at least a month and a half. Hmmmmm.......
