Kellog-American Compressor?

I can't seem to find much info on the web about Kellog-American air compressors. There is one for sale at a local auction, but I have no idea how much it might be worth, if its 3 phase etc. Can anyone tell me about it?

They claim its a Model B331UA, but google returns nothing on that model number.

It claims 5hp, so I would assume that it would need 3 phase?

Nice size for a home shop. At 24 amps (per the listing), I would assume that it is equipped with a single phase motor. Parts are still available. Easily worth $200 or so to me, although I favor the pressure-lubed Quincy models.

I have Got almost the same one...Mine is a 80 gallon tank, 5 HP motor (220 VAC single Phase). It a 1954 Model, that Pumps up quickly, stops at 175 PSI, restarts at 110 PSI...Is extreemly Quite!
I have used it since 1982 in my Garage...and it keeps up very well with my Sandblaster.
Parts are still around for these Old Kellogg American Work Horses.
I would grab it for sure!!!

hello, I'm fairly a new guy on here.......I have an opportunity to buy a Kellog-American Compressor, it is just missing the motor. It says on the tank tag, it was made in 1954 and the model # is B331UA and serial # is B332911, not sure if it's a 60 or 80 gallon though. Not sure of the HP either. The person that is selling it, said they had a 5 HP motor on it. It was used in a salvage yard, a pretty big one in my area, I looked at the oil and it was at the correct level and pretty clean. The price he is wanting is $200. Would that be a bad buy?? At least it's AMERICAN made and from what others have said, they are rebuildable. I was thinking about buying the one from Harbor-Freight, the one for $700. But I'm really considering this. Sounds like it would be cheaper over the long run.
