I got my 1956 kellogg 331 compressor running. It pumps up to 175psi. I want to lower the pressure to 150psi. It has the original contactor with a nut on top the spring. Will turning that nut lower the pressure and witch direction and can i lower it that much? Thanks, for any info, Joe

Yes. Back off the nut so that there is less spring preload on the contacts and you will lower the cut out pressure.

Depends on the particular pressure switch. Some have a fixed differential with the one adjusting screw for cutout pressure while others have a second (usually smaller) spring loaded adjusting screw to set the differential pressure.

There should be instructions on the side. They always seem to be on the side you don't see from the position you stand on.
