The compressor ran 40 years without any of these upgrades. First I installed a cross between the pressure switch and the original block. Replaced the supply line with a piece of stainless steel braided line. A gauge in other port and a mini ball valve in the original block. This way I can see I have pressure to the swith and have the ability to blow out any moisture.
Next was the oil drain. I replaced the ****** and cap with a shorter ****** and a ball valve. While I had it open, I cleaned the 40 years of sediment out of the crankcase.
I felt the lone ss braided line was lonely so I replaced he head unloader lines with stainless braide.
The last was the original tank gauge read 50 or so psi off from the new so it got replaced.
