Hi, I'm Ken. Since I've been posting a bit should finally get around to doing an introduction.
I live in beautiful Vinton, Iowa. Work as a mechanic/fabricator/crane operator in a family-owned ag-related business. Own half a dozen rental houses and a carwash. Graduated from UNI.
Used to race circle track, built a few cars, a few engines. Ran the gamut, started in hobby stock, had a mod, a late model. Spent most of my time in a limited late model class, couldn't afford the real thing. Quit driving, built a few cars, won a couple track championships as a builder/crewchief. Try to stay away now, but it's like my heroin.
Ride bikes. For dirt right now I've got a KTM 200MXC. Race a few hare scrambles, but I'm not good. It's a zen thing for me. Several street bikes. Avatar's my 05 20th Anniversary and 86 GSXR 750s. Ride a 75 Suzuki GT550 two-stroke for my daily. Some others in various states of assembly.
Have a 68 Chevelle that I built when the small-tire drag racing thing was just happening. Never drive it now. I'd like to get rid of it and get a front engine digger.
Joined mainly looking for inspiration. Have an old 32 x 32 wooden building that's been neglected. It has a lot of character and I'd like to refurb it giving it the look of an old blacksmith's shop. Some of the restos on here really impress me.
