Can anyone give me some feedback on the serpant tire tool? I have 5 trucks I do most of my own maintanance on and doing a whole set of drive tires is getting harder on me the older I get so I have been looking into getting some new tools to make it a little easier.

I have not used that one.....but I have used the AME tool for years. It is the cats pjs! I guess I only used the dismount tool. Not the mount tool, but for mounting truck tires the regular old T45 bar is great. With the AME tool I can dismount a tire under 10 seconds all day. As you may know some brands of tires are harder to dismount than others (michelin for one) some are not as easy as others with this tool, but thats no different than a set of bars or even the machines us tire shops use.

+1

I worked at a TA truck stop for several years, and I used the AME dismount tool all the time. As long as the tire is intact and not rusted onto the rim, it's fast and easy. I tried the AME mounting tool a few times, but I thought it was awkward. It was usually easier to mount the tire with a regular tire iron.

Here's a video of a guy mounting a super-single with a Ken Tool Serpent tire tool. It does look easy. If you get those bead holders too, it might be just the thing for an older guy who doesn't want to stand on the tire while mounting it.
