I recently purchased a Kennedy 7-Drawer Roll-away on CL for $80. Style No. 297-135763. Slides were tight. Wheels were good. Box not racked. No dents. Wrinkled finish needs help; rust spots and general fading/deterioration of paint. The seller believes that it is from the early 1970s.

- I tried EMailing Kennedy but received no response.
- And I searched GJ and Internet, but have not hit on anything. I feel that I've seen the information I seek somewhere.

(1) Is there a way to date it?
(2) I am looking for a decent method for protecting the finish. As in stop the spread of rust.

I live in AZ so humidity is minimal. I may refinish it at a later date, but I am lacking the time right now.

TIA
Paul

This may sound crazy but spray it down with wd-40 and wipe it down. I read that somewhere and it does work on the faded paint. I've got a small top chest, dont' remember the model, it was pretty faded and used it on that box and it looks pretty good.

Kennedy, used to have the brown wrinkle paint in a spray can. What's the tag numbers and model type?

Where are these located? The number I provided was in the top drawer on the right side.

I'll give this a whirl.

Stafford -

Just for the record : I tried spraying WD-40 onto a small cloth, then wiping this into the finish. It's been about ten days. Looks great. Big difference. Thanks for the suggestion.
