I picked up a couple of Kennedy Boxes yesterday. The top box is an 11-drawer unit with aluminum drawer pulls. At first look, I thought they were perfect. However, it was cold, windy, icy, and dark, and I forgot to grab my flashlight from the ashtray before meeting the guy.
All in all, I still think it was a reasonable deal: $150 for the two. As you can see in the photos, there's some rust. However, in my opinion, the corrosion is minimal and doesn't impact the integrity of the boxes. The rust seems to be stable and the boxes will now be stored in a location where further water damage is unlikely.
My first thought is to simply leave it alone. However, I could brush off the rust and brush on a clear coat or apply a coat of paste wax. Would you leave it alone or try to clean it up? Thanks for the help, one and all.
