People always ask about Kennedy toolboxes. Where do you find them? Are they still in business? etc, etc. Trust me we are still in business. We've supplied thousands of boxes to troops in Afghanistan. We are now selling tons to supply Chrysler's major plant upgrades in Michigan. Every box we make is made in Van Wert Ohio. Our warranty is second to none and more than likely we have replacement parts if you need them. Our model lines have been around for ages and we still make alot of the machinist chest that made Kennedy what it is today.

I'm proud to be a member of a company that manufactures American made tool cabinets. Just getting the world out that yes Kennedy is still going strong and making AMERICAN made tool boxes. A lot of our employees nearing retirement have been with us over 40 years.

I'm glad to see that Kennedy is still around and still making boxes in the U.S. I am a buyer/user of one of your 53" Benchmark Series top chests and would like to report that the drawer configuration and build quality were underwhelming to experience in person when I received the box. It was purchased to sit on top of a 24 year old Snap-on KR1000, so making a comparison between the two boxes was impossible to avoid. The best characteristic of the Kennedy chest is that it is sturdily built...you guys have that figured out. The undesirable characteristics to me are the uneven gaps between the drawers, the high visibility of the spot welds on the front of the drawer faces and the annoying lack of 2" deep drawers on the long bank of drawers. If the main intended application for this series of boxes is for something other than a mechanics box, then my constructive critique may be off the mark. Glad to see you plugging the Kennedy brand here.

Would like to see them in person. There is only one place local to me that sells Kennedy boxes and they have had the same few on display for at least 3 years. The ones they do have seem great but this place has them prices outrageous. They sell more to industrial business than the guy just Walking in.

I love the two boxes sitting in my garage now, a vintage leather handled 7 drawer and a new cantilever box.
My only gripe is that when I ordered the cantilever from one of the toolbox sites, it showed up with a good size dent in the side. The thing was shipped in the standard box with no protection at all. C'mon have you seen how things move through the UPS hub?? They laugh at your fragile sticker. A call to customer service and a replacement box was sent out all dented up too even after explaining what happened to the first box. Both boxes were dropped shipped from the Ohio factory and my direct email to Kennedy went unanswered. Granted, I'm not not your million dollar customer.
That was a few years ago so hopefully things have changed for the better. Still after that, I see my Kennedys and know my son will use them too someday.

Went through Van Wert a few months ago.
I was armed with all the info available on the internet about the plant.
I found it empty and abandoned.
Oh well.
Got home and FINALLY found a reference to their new location, so I missed it.
Maybe next year.

I ordered the pretty expensive 3611b large machinist top chest from zoro and had to return 2 of them before i got one that wasn't all smashed up.
I guess UPS is their biggest customer!

Is the Kennedy Retail Store "still going strong"?
Are factory seconds still available?
A couple of years ago, I remember reading on Kennedy's website that the store was open VERY limited hours, like the sixth tuesday of each month following a blue moon on a leap year from 11:15am-noon.
After a quick looksie on the website, I saw no mention of the retail store.
If it's still open, how are the deals?

Do ya'll make top boxes/chests lined with green felt?


I would really like a standard wrinkle brown signature series machinest or mechanic chest with a matching bottom cart (stationary if possible....no casters).


I used an old one in the past and it had the bottom drawer that swung open like an old garage door. Good stuff!
