Yup. I am the only one I know of who rocks the Kens in a garage. There was ONE guy had a Kennedy top box I worked with him about 22 years ago.

CarbideRat, is that aluminum jack in the bottom drawer? How much does the jack weigh?

The listed weight of the jack is 43 lbs. but I doubt it. It feels like more.

Anyway the jack is actually in the bottom drawer of my International SRB-4205. This toolbox is awesome and weighs 400+ lbs. empty.

The newer modular series Kennedy has retangular slots and the entire slider can be snaped up and forward off the box.

Hi All. Could you please elaborate upon the removal of these sliders? I've got one of these boxes, and since I'm using it as a mechanics box, rather than a machinists box, I'd really like to move one of my 4" drawers to the top, swapping it for 2-2" drawers. Thanks, Jason

Hi there, thanks for the advise on getting the slider out. Unfortunately, I've tried this, and I'm afraid I need a bit more clarification... I've pulled the drawers out, and have pulled the the slider all the way towards me. I've tried to firmly pulling up on it and have even tried a few light blows with a hammer. Do I just need to be more firm with it? My concern, of course, is that I will break something. Thanks, Jason

I struggled with mine the first time also. I believe you need to fist go upwards with the slider in its two mounting places on the box and then forwards to remove them. You can call that Kennedy customer service number to verify. Order a couple of roller bearing sliders for it also. They're not too expensive an upgrade and the difference is amazing. Although I will say that those Kennedy friction sliders are the only manufacturers sliders that actually work better when they're loaded down.

Hi. Thanks for the additional advise. I've already got roller bearing slides actually. I think you're right... From feeling behind the panel where the slide mounts, and looking with an inspection mirror, it seems as though it must come up in the front and come forward in the rear. But... it sure is in there tight. I'll give it another shot when I return to school after spring break (I'm an A&P student). Thanks.
