I have those three but NOWHERE near as clean.
The top box is great for Machinist things, not great for mechanic things.
The center box is about as useful as shoe boxes, the weight of a full top box makes the drawers hard to open on that center.
The bottom is the best welding cart ever.

That is very nice. Very clean. I'd pay double that if needed, triple if I had a pre-planned use and place for it.

That's a sweet deal. Bought a similar setup locally a couple years back for something like twice that. I really just wanted the 52611 top box, but the bottom has turned into an a great bar cart on the porch.

I'm surprised it's still listed..nice find.

No one much loves used Kennedy boxes.
My very dirty(rust free Arizonabut years of mill and lathe lube grime , but undented and working fine, identical units,
Were 40 bucks on the last day of a 4 day yard sale. The same 40 bucks they were on the first day. Filled to the brim with nasty little cutters and taps and a hodge podge of mill ends. Not slopping dirty, it was that grime you scrape off and it curls up in front of the blade.

I cant either.
For that price, I'd go get it right away.
I just sold a top 11 drawer like that for $125.00.
I like Kennedy, but I needed the money.

The seller could be one of those flakes that list for some reason and then never returns a call.
I run in to them about 1 in 4 times.
Then they list again, and again won't return calls even when you say you'll pay full price and just need a time and directions....
Then list it again.

Your 125 was top dog money. Congratulations.

Up here in SW Michigan, that tool box would be 500 plus. It might not sell for that but it wouldn't stop craigslist sellers from asking that much.

A black HF tool cart is currently on CL for 125 firm. The seller has the stones to mention that it is firm three times in the ad. HF sells them everyday for 99 bucks. I just wish my CL didn't **** so much.

I've been trying to contact the seller.... no response at all.
This is exactly how it goes most times I want something on craigslist. That or I inquire about a listing that is 2 months old and about to expire and find out they just sold it earlier in the day.....I kid you not that has happened twice.

I have the top two boxes in that same set. I tried to buy the roller at an auction last week. I stopped bidding at $475...nearly double what I had planned to spend on it. Later I asked the guy that bought it how high he'd have gone. He said easily 600. He wanted it more than I did.

Sure wish I was closer. I REALLY want to get the roller for my set.

I used to try to rationalize the flakes, "well maybe all the email responses are going to their spam folder and they think nobody wants the item."

But as experience in life and Craigslist grows, it is more clear that many people are idiots and operate at a lower level than others.

Yup, Those lister types definitely exist especially when they are not using their phone numbers. Where I live if it's a smoking deal and the phone number is listed then they will generally delete post asap after it has sold otherwise they can get hundreds of calls, that's when they realize they gave it away.

I was fortunate to score a baby Wilton vise on powrarm for $20, the seller kept the ad up for 6 more days. Talk about frustration for the others while I was gleefully playing with my new Wilton.

It's usually people who have no clue or really don't give a damn, hence the super low price to start out with. Also, about two years ago someone in my area were posting killer priced fake ad's just to f*ck with people.

I bought the top and middle box exactly like that for $65 at a swap meet a few months ago.

It was in with a bunch of mechanics stuff - not sure the guy knew what a Kennedy box was.

No one much loves used Kennedy boxes.

I can't figure out why this is. Where I live, we have a good population of machinists, and I can still find Kennedy roller cabs for $20-50... or whole stacks for under $100 delivered to my garage. And when I do find them, they've been on CL for weeks with few to no bites. Obviously at that price they are often really dirty or need some work, but the boxes themselves are durable and easily serviced.

In a perfect world, I'd love to assemble a workbench with a bank of identical Kennedy 297s underneath for storage. In the past, I modified a 275 cabinet for use as a mobile bicycle workbench, and I have a couple of roller stacks in two of my shops as general tool storage. The machinist top chests are great for a workstation; I have one full of electrical and soldering tools, another for layouts, etc.
