I just started buying Kennedy Tool boxes. I haven’t paid more than $25.00. I bought the one without a bottom for $10.00 . I figured for spare parts. I just can’t believe someone would do that to a Kennedy. The rest of the box works perfectly. What a shame. Enjoy the day 🍷

You will find many Kennedy toolboxes posted on this thread. You could post yours there.

I have quite a few top boxes, although I tend to have to pay ~$50 apiece. I also have bought a lot of the Craftsman and similar style handyman's hand boxes. I clean them up and then sort tools etc. into them by job. e.g. I have one for batteries, one for soldering, one for air tools, etc. One of the Kennedy boxes holds stereo/turntable related stuff, the rest are mostly handyman tools that I need to sort better. I was never very good at organization and going through this has made my life infinitely better.

I also have two 26" Craftsman roll cabinets in my storage locker, one is mechanic's tools, one is again homeowner type stuff. Bought those new when they were blowing them out, I'd order them for store pickup because I still had local stores then.

I have a couple of Kennedy boxes but they are the cantilevered style. Why did they cut bottom off that box? Assuming to make it fit somewhere but that's pretty unusual. Boxes look like they are in pretty good shape overall good luck with them.

I am not sure why they did that. The rest of the box works perfectly. I bought it for $10.00 so I can use it for spare parts 🍷

My guess on the cutoff bottom on the OP's box would be rust or such. I've found plenty of these boxes that are in excellent condition like that other than the Swiss cheesy bottom. I assume it's from damp basement or shop where condensation takes over if it doesn't get moved. Lots of good ones still out there to find! I'll try n update with some pics of mine when I get a chance too
