Kennel room flooring

Just wondering what will hold up the best to urine, soaps, bleach and what not the best. i was %100 going to put down rust bullet, but i'm not in love with the gray/silver color. The other colors offered aren't doing it for me either. I'm also worried because i have two cracks and from the videos online it doesn't hide cracks at all.

All i really want it a nice gray color, or maybe the marbleizing colored floors i see. i need commercial grade flooring!!! it has to be stronger then strong!

i'm also debating just sealing it, its brand new cement poured last year (no dogs on it yet)

I am currently renovating a large commercial kennel with 50 "stalls". They are all plain concrete, and going to keep them that way. These probably suffer more abuse than what yours will though. I had one I built at my house that is outside, and it is plain concrete as well. Made it easy to hose clean when needed.

i currently have 50 dogs on site (spring break) so i'm sure it will get abused just as much if not more

that being said im thinking of just doing the best sealer i can find

Cracks -- If you can get the tip of a utility knife in there, no matter what system you use, grind it out and repair it.

Rust Bullet -- Great Product. Maybe not the best choice here

What to use: I would use a high solids epoxy kit with a good urethane such as the one we offer like https://www.garageflooringllc.com/garage-floor-epoxy-kits/ . Legacy has some great kits too

The one possible game changer here is how soon you want to put the animals back in and odor. There may be some benifit to going with 100% solids and being careful on topcoat selection.

As far as the coin pattern flooring goes its ok in my daycare, but its a pain to clean. Most kennels actually install it upside down and use it in much smaller spaces. the coin pattern traps a ton of dirt. i can get you pictures if you want as i bought it from you if you.

what are the options for just plain sealers?

Acid staining is cool. However, we offer a much more safe and colorful alternative...DeltaDye! DeltaDye Concrete Stain offers many more colors and is super easy to apply.

To answer your question...
(2) coats of a clear sealer like our HD6525MMA is an excellent way to seal a stain.

As I'm sure you are aware, the dye just colors the concrete. It's the coating you apply over it that you need to be concerned with in your application. I think Scotty would agree that the HD6525 is not the best choice for a kennel. A high solids clear epoxy with a polyurethane clear top coat would be a better alternative. Either that or a couple coats of clear polyurea.

Not a bad idea, I would upgrade the sealer to at least SEC Sealer and perhaps a coat of urethane. SEC is much more chem resistant than HD6525MMA.

I have an outdoor kennel and did a tinted polyurethane followed by flakes/chips and several coats of clear polyurethane with a non-skid added. About a year old now with no issues. Easy to clean and not slippery.

I did the flakes/chips to hide my concrete finishing sins.

The flakes/chips are good for this application, they also give the pups a little traction without using ant-skid.

One comment, no matter who you purchase from, be VERY careful on the non skid selection. We have had experiences with customers buying (without our knowledge) too-large non skid and the dogs had ****** paws. Too small, and it can be slippery and the dogs go flying...
