I have a vintage Kent Moore tool J8924. It is like new, but I don't know what is used for. I think it may be for the installation of hood springs and probably from the 1940's but not sure. Can anyone identify this tool? Thank you.

A picture would help. Kent Moore and Miller Special Tool used to be marketed to car dealerships. They had a lot of specialty tools for particular cars. These two companies along with OTC belong to SPX which in turn was acquired by Robert Bosch gmbh. I found some identintical tools in more than one of the three companies. Give Kent Moore a call. They are still in business. A search brought up nothing.

If this is what yours looks like, it is a Reverse Idler Bearing Installer. Could not tell you what applications it covers, though.

I swiped the image from an eBay auction, so if the eBay member is on here, hope that was OK.
