Closing on my first house ever this coming Thursday! It's a nice house . . . way bigger than the apartment we've been living in. The garage is 520 sq ft (20' W X 26' L). I've been married for about 6.5 years, and we have two girls. Oldest is 5 years, youngest is 9 months.

The garage is a blank slate. It's already drywalled, but I wish it wasn't. There's only one outlet at the very front near the breaker box. There's two more on the ceiling in the center. I'd like at least one by the door for the freezer and one more on each wall.

I've been admiring a lot of your pictures in the gallery, and look forward to posting progress on mine. Definitely want to get some epoxy down on the floor, and get some lights up! Oh yeah, they've got one 4' flourescent in the middle. What? I guess they didn't do anything but park their cars.

I do a lot of my own repairs. Detailing is a must! Anyway, just wanted to put my name on the board, and let you know I've arrived! Well, arrived at home ownership w/ a garage!

Side note: Thank you to all those who serve and have served our great country!
I spent 5 years on active duty in the Army. Served two combat tours (both in Iraq) and seperated as a SGT (E-5). Anothetr 14 months in the Guard. Now I work for the Department of Veterans Affairs (on the Veterans Benefit Administration side of it, not the medical).

Welcome to GJ. A 'blank slate' garage is lots of fun. Enjoy dreaming, scheming & planning! What is the ceiling height (any chance for a lift)?

And - thanks for your service. I am an ER nurse at the Durham, NC VA. Vets are the best patients (even the crabby ones...).

Awesome. Thank you. I don't exactly know yet. I imagine it's your standard 8' ceiling though.

Welcome to the GJ, what did you do in the Army?

Mechanic. I enlisted as a generator mechanic, but I was pulling motors out of hmmwv's before I ever changed the oil in a generator. I was a generator mechanic, light wheel vehicle mechanic, and unmanned aerial vehicle mechanic. My first deployment, and majority of service, was in an infantry unit. Of course, the UAV, had me in a military intelligence unit.

OK, technically those are pictures but they are very small. Lets be more specific - we want normal size pictures!
