For what it's worth, I've had one of these tables (looks exactly the same as the fixed length leg version, down to the details) for many years (at least 5) and I've been hard on it. Still works like a champ and the clamps have held up fine. I use it frequently for glue-ups of small stuff, sanding, jigsawing, handheld routing, etc. I like that it's inexpensive, light, and takes up very little space when hung on the wall. The shelf underneath isn't generous, but it's sufficient to hold a pile of 12" and corner clamps and a bottle of wood glue. I just used it this week to make some corner guards for drywall in the garage out of 6' long 1x3 oak boards. Used it to hold the pieces while running the roundover bit down all the edges, glueing, sanding. Used it a few weeks ago to frame some pegboard for some lightweight tools in the stairwell from the garage to the basement.

Nice to have a small portable worktop whose finish I don't care about getting glue, polyurethane, primer, etc. on. I've also found it handy for putting car parts on when I overflow a main bench, especially when I'm going to douse the part(s) with brake cleaner.

Picked up two at Sams Club this morning for $49 bucks each. They had a special going on this weekend with a free pass to shop the 13th-15th. Same price as members, without the usual 10% surcharge that they normally charge for trial memberships.

Went this morning, they had about a dozen on an end cap near the tools. I bought 4, 3 as gifts, and 1 more for myself(now I have 3...).

Just got back from the Duluth GA Sams location. I picked up 2 for me and 1 as a gift to the neighbor that has helped me construct my workshop building. They were $49.88 each. There were about 6 or 7 left - and I had been told 28 at the Tucker GA location.

I popped one open once home to check it out. They seem very durable and rather high quality. The height is a little short for me - I'm 6'3" and would prefer they be another 6" or so higher, but I can live with it.

Picked one up today at Walmart. $49 and they were back in automotive. Had 8 or 9. Limited time only.

I used it for the first time today in my garage. I have to say I am impressed with the Keter table. For the past 15+ years I have been using a B&D Workmate 225 and it may be replaced by the Keter as my primary worksite table. It is strong and provides a larger work surface. Only issue I have is the clamps are not that strong. I was cutting a few 2x4's with a hand saw and the clamps did not hold as tightly as my workmate. The wood slipped out of the clamps. I clamped tighter but the wood work still work it way out of the clamp. I also pounded about two dozen nails from some 2x4's using the table to support the work and I never felt the table deflect from the hammer blows.

A few comments to compare the workmate with the Keter table:

  • Height of the Keter table is about 1" taller than my workmate 225
  • Keter has a much larger work surface and a useable shelf beneath the work table
  • Both weighed about the same but I didn't actually weigh them so this may not be that accurate
  • I found it easier to walk with the folded Keter table than the Workmate. The Keter table folds flat without any protruding parts to hit your leg
  • The Keter clamps will not hold the work as tightly as the workmate table
  • Workmate will clamp odd shaped parts when you use the included orange plastic table top work holders
  • You cannot substitute the Keter clamps with Irwin's or another brand. The clamps fit in a groove in the table and the mounting tabs on the Keter clamps are unique
  • Keter table opens and closes faster and is easier on the back because you don't have to bend over and open each table leg
  • Keter table is primarily plastic construction except for the aluminum legs. Workmate is primarily metal with a wood top and plastic parts for the vise handles and table movement parts and leg locks. It was 25 degrees outside where I was working today and the plastic did not shatter
  • Both cost the same. I purchased a second Workmate for $50 at Menard two months ago. I purchased the Keter table yesterday from Walmart for $49 on sale
  • My Workmate is 15+ years old and still working well. I don't know if the Keter will last that long.

Good Review Mr. ford33.

I may go to Costco during the week and buy the Keter Ex, $11 more ($59.99) and try that to see if the clamps on the new version are better. I can always bring the other back to Wal-Mart because I didn't use it yet..

Might be the ticket? will see...

I bought one of these at Costco about two years ago. I can jump up and down on top of it without it flexing. They are way more durable than I would have expected.

I've been using it in the garage and taking it camping/fourwheeling and haven't had any issues with it. Clipping the clamps in to the table makes a great setup for hammering ujoints out on the trail.

Yeh, it's pretty good for its price, to bad they are not available at the moment in my area.

Ford33's review is pretty detailed, does any one know if the Keter is made of glass filled nylon? If it is then I think it has a great chance of being a forever tool. I have one and I can not tell but I love it so far.

My wife and I were in Sam's Club over the weekend and they had the tables for $37.01! My wife asked if I wanted one for Christmas. I said sure, but she said it would have to go under the tree. This isn't what I was expecting when I woke up the next morning!

Ok, here's the scoop.

The one a Costco #17199331 is the same length and depth only the height is different. You have 3 height adjustments 30" , 31 /34", and 33 3/4" high.

The clamps are much better than the quick grips on the other #17182239..

They give you 4 flat style and 2 top clamps, all sliders.

Before I return the one from Wal-Mart , the quick grips DO work on the other table. I called Keter and the person said that the quick grip clamps will not work. I told her they did and she was surprised..

I ask if I could order a pair but they will not be in stock until after the first of the year. She also said that they would $10 each , so it would be $20 for the pair plus shipping. I will probably pass on them..

So the Wal-Mart one is $49. and Costco's $59...

I will post some photos later...

So the Costco one is adjustable and it has better grips for $10 more than the walmart one?

It has about 4" of height adjustment, via extensions in the legs.

It also has a lower weight capacity.

I question whether or not the grips/clamps are "better" - they're definitely handy looking, and I'd like them in addition to the bar clamps, but "better" is subjective.

They give you 4 flat style and 2 top clamps, all sliders.

The 4 flat-style clamps essentially replicate the bar clamps when wedged into the table surface.

1 piece out of the 4 isn't really useful for anything buy itself. They're designed to work in pairs.

The top clamps look handy, but can basically be replicated with the bar clamps by positioning the bar clamps vertically through the holes provided in the table.

Looking at it more, I do question how well the EX style table clamps will hold up - that little plastic nub, threaded onto the bolt - the job that recesses into the table? That seems like it or the guides it clamps against would have the potential for over-tightening and breaking.

Just posted photos on prior post , the new clamps are better and yes it's (plastic) so you can't go crazy. If need be you can use c-clamps.

Plus you can turn the clamps in any direction as with the bar clamps straight only..

Over all for $10 more to me its better. The other clamps give you that much more in options...

That's cool. To each their own. I'm happy with mine, and it's the version I'd rather have. The extra weight capacity is going to be well worth it.

This looks very useful. I'll keep my eye out at my local WM and if I dont get my hands on one, I'll resort to Amazon as I think I would really like one of these.

Well, at 40 bucks I could be convinced. But it's still heavy and bulky. I also have Workmates for this kind of work. They aren't the lightest either.

I figured it was a good middle ground between a saw horse and putting a piece of plywood across two sawhorses.

I have a couple of tall tables (about 16"x20") built on the Rugged Buddy legs that I like but the Keter is a better height and bigger surface.

Here's a pic of the Rugged Buddy legs.

I got one from Costco for Christmas but have yet to use it. May break it out tonight when I start rearranging the garage. It will definitely get used for my upcoming compressor cab/plumbing project!

Well I finally got to use my work table this week. Unfortunately, I can't say my experience was a good one.

I actually had the table setup for a few days. I was impressed how quickly I was able to set it up and how sturdy it was. It was a perfect platform for my miter saw. Breaking down the table was effortless and also quick.

My problem with the unit is, it will not lock back into it's closed position. It wants to flop open when I carry it and when positioned horizontally will just fall open on it's own with even touching the lock releases. Upon further inspection, it's apparent that the 2 red "locking" levers will not engage on their own and even when I manually lock them they will not remain in that position.

Too bad...it really is a nice work station and with a little more thought put into the design, I think my problem would be a non-issue. This one's going back to Walmart. I bought 2 of these. I haven't opened the other one yet, but even if it doesn't fail on the first usage, based on the design I can't image it won't be an issue in the near future. Then again, maybe I just got a lemon. I'd be interested in hearing if anyone else has had this problem.

no problems yet. My buddy and I both took ours shooting recently, but our bipods kept falling into the holes on the table. I have been using the heck out of mine and I love it so much that I want to pick up another one. I know you're not supposed to do this, but I was using mine as a platform to stand on when gutting my sisters bathroom. I showed my mom the table and she picked up one for my sister and herself. I would try out your second one as you might have just got a lemon.

Thanks for the feedback....your post gives me hope...I really want to like this table. I know I could just wrap a rope around this one to carry it..but I'm a stickler when it comes to stuff like this. I want the thing to function the way it was meant to function. I'll give the other one a try and report back.

As for standing on it...One of the first things I did was hop up on it. I wouldn't hesitate to use it as a platform if needed, but I'm not a big guy either.

Make sure the clamps are not blocking it from folding flat. Take the clamps out completely and see if that helps.

I liked my Wal Mart table so much I picked up the Costco version as well.

Orange, Cal Walmart had one, missing one clamp, price guy marked it $49 while I was standing there. I pointed out the missing clamp and they said maybe 10% off, but I don't think its nearly as useful without the clamp made to fit the table.

They said it was a BF leftover.

OTOH likely gone or price reduced since I was there on the 24th.
