I figure it’s about time I show off my new shop. It’s a 30x40 with 10’ sidewalls and storage in the attic.

Quick backstory, We relocated to Columbia, Mo from Lawrence, Ks in June of 2020. We had just finished building our first brand new home in Dec 2018 and I put up a 42x64 and got concrete poured in October 2019. Shortly after that a job opportunity arose and we decided to make the jump and take a chance on a career change. My fiancé has been working for this company for 7 years and I had started to get a little tired of my role. Here is what we chose to leave.

Long story short we searched and searched for a home while making the 2.5 hour drive every weekend to look at homes. We contemplated brand new spec homes in town and after upping our budget several times we made an offer on a much bigger home on 6.3 acres right outside of town. Here is what we fell in love with.

The home is 20 years old and twice as big as our previous home but needs some cosmetic updates to meet our style. Those will come in time. The shop was completed about 7 years ago but just had the shell, electricity, and concrete. Here is what it looked like when we moved in.

I have since added garage door openers, better lights, osb on the walls, barn wood on the two end walls, and a TV with wifi. The barn wood came from my parents house so I think it’s pretty cool to repurpose it in my own building 4.5 hours away. Still to come is corrugated steel on the ceiling and eventually hopefully going to add on a lean-to with a bathroom. Almost forgot the spray foam!Enjoy the pics!
