Kinda off topic but my 3 year old lost my wife's keys or rather hid them and we haven't found them, she put my keys in the same spot and he got those to, luckily I found them. Thinking of getting one of the tiles or comparable. Anyone have any or any recommendations?

Attach the replacement keys to an anchor, too large and heavy, for a three year old to be bothered with.

When you want to use your keys, disconnect them from the anchor.

Why not just put the keys where a three year old can't get at them? Maybe try putting them on a high shelf or in a cabinet?

Tiles work well if you are in the room with it. The do have a shelf life, as the battery isn't replaceable.

Guys women don't have common sense we all know this hence why I always have my keys, she had to have my van keys in order to drive and then put them back in her normal spot. I suggested the closet or the kitchen cabinets but they got put back in the same spot. That's why I'm looking at tiles, for my sanity lol. Newer tiles have replaceable batteries but wasn't sure if anyone had any real world experience.

Guy at work used to carry one in his wallet, (don't ask,) but he was pleased with it.

The thing I don't like about the tiles, it's basically an annual fee, you need to buy a new one every year because the battery dies and you cant replace it. Surely soon they will make the battery last only 6 months so everyone has to buy 2 a year.

Tiles are good in your home/work, but outside in the world you are limited by the crowd location as what is lost has to come into contact with someone else that has the app. Think it will show the last location, but if it moved and is no longer in contact with the service via someone else's app your out of luck.

Also requires location to always be enabled on your phone which most people don't like.

Got the Trakr brand because you can replace the battery....my pa-in-law lost the battery and cover in less than two weeks. UL, CSA, Ford Tough....nope. Doyle can break anything.
The Trakr fobs have worked ok.
What about the Milwaukee Tic? Might be a little too bulky.

The Tile Pro has a replaceable battery. As stated above, works well for around the house. The app will tell you if it is nearby, you press find and the tile starts ringing.

I bought it to try here at work, we'd like to be able to track our master sets. Doesn't work like I was hoping. I want to be able to search for a set of keys, not just make them ring, plus if the set of keys is sitting out on a sidewalk I don't want to every baddie to go see what is making that noise.

I was hoping for more of an actual tracker. I am still looking though.
