I got a KRA58B toolbox (1963)which came without the key.
Called LDV 1-800-558-5986 and ordered a key using the code on the lock. I received it today. They key goes in, starts to turn and after 1-3 degrees stops.
Does anybody have any experience with LDV? Do you have to ask them to cut the keys twice sometimes? (the key was not Snap On original - I wonder if it was off by just a hair and that's why it does not work)
I think the lock works - starts to move easily, same as if I put a wrong key. I tried pressing the pins from inside with the paperclip and they are not stuck and move well.
I will call LDV after the weekend to see if they can cut me another one (hopefully this works). If it fails, did anybody have a locksmith adjust the pins in the lock cylinder to have the lock fit the key? (for example if trying to rekey several locks to the same key? I wonder how much that would cost...
