How do you determine the key size needed for a chuck size? I have several old drills with no keys and cannot find a part number or chuck size. Anyone have a good source for keys?

Ayuh,.... Use the backend of known sized drills to find the key's bore size,....

Most better hardware stores, 'n tool dealers have replacement keys,...

Grainger has chuck keys for most common sizes and are very inexpensive.

Look at the chuck itself and it will tell you what size it is.

There's more to it than the bore size- also need to know the size of the gear teeth on the chuck, correct? I would start by getting one of those universal 4-way chuck keys from HF for 5 bucks
