keyed alike tool box locks

I have a number of older Snap On tool boxes, and have no keys for the locks. I know that I can order replacement keys by the number on the face of the lock, but that will leave me with a ring full of keys. Is there a place that I can get a bunch of locks that are keyed alike to change out all the locks? I also don't want to break the bank buying these.

Local locksmith. I changed my old SO to ACE round cylinders years before it was factory.

The the backs of the cylinders are a little different, so I would keep track of which ones fit what box.

The locksmith can also "rekey" them to be the same as well.

You can also go to sites like McMaster Carr and once you find a lock that will work, order a multiple all keyed the same

Umm... Snap-On, dude. You can get Snap-On parts from Snap-On.

Snap On advised me that they no longer have inventory of locks for old snap on cabinets. This box is over 40 years old, and some of my others are probably in the 50 year old range, just like many of the tools in those boxes, are no longer available.

If you know the size and type of cylinder, these guys should be able to help. They are a huge manufacturer of file cabinet and tool box locks that I've used many times in cabinetry.

I recently got replacement locks (keyed alike) for my 1978 era Snap-On boxes. Call Snap-On again and ask the representative for the phone number of the lock supplier for obsolete locks. If I recall correctly, it was about $ 15.00 per with shipping. went to a local locksmith and they wanted at least $20 each to re-key.

I realize this is an old thread, but the information is relevant. most tool box locks that I have seen are standard wafer locks . they come in different lengths with various lock bars .
you can get keys by code too, go to a real locksmith & they will be able to help you out.
