Hospital carts might work. They look almost like a roll cab, but most of them are plastic and the drawers are typically a little deeper.

If you're willing to do some cleanup, you can always find some inexpensive Craftsman cabs on Craigslist.

I picked up a nice little red plastic box at a car show/flea market at the fairgrounds that has a small detachable parts bin on each side of the lid. Lightweight and just enough for a kids small toolset.

I bought an old wooden dresser at a garage sale for five bucks, painted it red and mounted a large set of casters on the bottom. It looked just like a rolling tool cabinet. My son loved it.

My son and I are doing the same treatment for his night table. We're using some old wrenches painted red for the drawer pulls. We painted the carcase red and the drawer fronts black.

I agree on getting a plain old dresser and tool it up a bit. Wrench pull handles, a cool paint job (flames?), and some hot rod stickers would be rockin'!

Most real boxes will have too many shallow drawers that dont work well for clothes and normal kids stuff.

The dresser idea works great, and you can also use some aluminum/steel channel or angle to make drawer length handles similar to typical roll cabs.

Dress the handles with some of the cheap rolls of plastic chrome car door guard stuff for some bling.

Walmart has these plastic dressers that are made by Step 2. They are great for small kids who might climb on a metal dresser and tip it. My son got one when he was little. It came with the race stickers.

I did the same for my son's room. Bought some aluminium angle at Home Depot for the corners and just used a flat piece at the top of each drawer to look like chrome handles. I put a small buffing wheel in my drill press to polish all the trim. Also did his bed to match, along with a set of shelves on his wall. I mounted a couple of cheapo wrenches I picked up on clearance at TSC on the footboard of his bed.

Here are the wrenches on his footboard. Where the tire/wheel is, was originally a spoked wagon wheel looking thing. I just covered it with 1/4 plywood and painted the racing wheel/tire. I used hex head sheet metal screws for the bead lock look around the rim.

His whole room is a racing theme. It is painted with white/yellow/blue stripes around the whole room to match his favorite drivers car. I mounted some wrenches on the wall, and used checkered flag tape from Advance Auto to do the ceiling fan and light switches. the logo's of all the local dirt tracks we go to are around the top border. He loves it.
