Woody: thanks for sharing more of your research and information. those are cool looking wrenches and i'm thinking I might own a few because I rarely pass up a curved wrench if laying on a table or in an old tool box where i'm buying other tools.

Thanks for the info! Here's my K&B alligator wrench. Was in a box of stuff I got for $18 (including the box).

Found this old thread , maybe Woody will respond. Although I’m a ‘youngster’ (mid 40’s) , I grew up in New Haven and always enjoy seeing things made here. I also know the area where the factory was. Here is my Kilborn Bishop wrenches. I imagine the open end wrench with the squared off openings is very early.

George A Kilborn and E. R. Bishop formed the company on 4/23/1896 after taking the reigns of the Blakeslee & Co. (where Kilborn was a partner). Looks like that company started as Ives, Blakeslee & Co ca. 1875 in the toy business, and renamed Ives, Blakeslee & Williams around 1890. In 1893-4 they went bankrupt and the Ives portion split off to continue the toy business in NY while the rest was reorganized as Blakeslee & Co. and stayed in Southington.

Since I rarely leave any 4” adjustable wrenches behind, I picked up this rusty treasure and was surprised to find this thread.

Don, it took me a couple of minutes of staring at the second picture before I realized the extra numbers on the back of the wrench specificity it as "22 1/2 degrees" for the angle of the head. I've never seen that spec'ed on a wrench before.

Also don't believe I've ever seen an adjustable with a square hang hole. That's pretty slick.

I found a K&B 8” adjustable today in a box of tools I picked up. Interesting wrench with the angle marking. Also looks to be missing the “H” in New Haven. This is the first K&B I’ve seen in person.

6in adjustable from last weekend.

So far in this thread, we've got the 4in, 6in, and 8in. Who's got the 10 and 12 inchers? :dunno:

In my searching to find who made certain Fulton tools, I was stumped when it came to a pair of staple or fence pliers. Most of the pliers I could find had a hammer on one side and a curved point on the other. The Fulton though has a curved chisel like shape opposite the hammer. The closest match I can find is one made by The Kilborn & Bishop Co, Newhaven. In the pictures below show both side by side and then the names. Does this seem close enough to declare K&B made this Fulton?
