Kind of interesting as a novelty. No price. I suspect the price would be a deterence.

Not really novelty at all actually. Maybe because I'm an electronics/electrician nerd, but I think it makes you realize how much power you really use, you can try out ur old fridge and then your new fridge, etc. Once you have one you will always wonder, hmmm how much power does this or that use. I use a small one for my burst fire controller I built for my smoker, I just dial in the wattage I want and the temp stays just right, also extending the life of the element 10fold. Anyways this has many uses and features and I bought all my different sizes of killawatt meters on ebay for a decent price.

I paid $20 shipped for mine when I was building computers. It actually helped for certain things. I still have it, works great if you need to see how much load you are putting on a circuit. I have found many specs to be incorrect.

I wouldn't mind one, just to check consumption of a device. But looks like they are selling them to put on all your electronics. Also has a built in surge protector.

If I had one, I would play with it. You can't clamp cords, so you have to open the panel and turn everything else off on that breaker. Before that I lose interest.

I think the one I linked too was $45. 20 is for the single receptical version.

Also it has a emf filter which is good for high end devices, even tho its probably just a ferrite ring, but better than nothing. I have all flourecent lights in my house so I actually have a rack mounted power conditioner for my Plasma TV and its accessories which is an actual emf filter.

I have the single receptacle version also. No idea they made others. I just plugged a surge protector into mine and it does the same thing.

kindof, there are extra features but none of which are really worth the extra 25$ other than the looks.

I always wonder how much power a cell phone charger used, especially when it was not charging a phone.
