So a friend of mine has a company and he paints all his company vehicles that Green Essentials SS. He found this Astro Van which I buzzed all down with 320 on a DA (minor body work on passenger rear dogleg) When the mud work was ready for primer, i used a Nason 2k primer on the mud work and a couple other spots around the vehicle where sun-damage had taken its tole, feathering the areas first of course. Keep in mind this vehicle was completely taped before i even touched sandpaper, after round blocking primed areas with 400(using plenty of guide coat) she took a bath and got all cleaned up with some STP cleaner which i had never used in the past and had plenty of doubts about but found it to work pretty good as a pre-cleaner for any topcoat application. Once the vehicle was completely wiped down then double wiped and triple wiped with a final tack cloth wipe off i laid down two medium wet coats of shopline sealer, tacked it off, then applied two medium wet coats of the Essentials Ss, once that had set (approx 45 min) i laid down two coats of the Kirker SS white pearl. The next day i spent buffing, not a bad turn out considering the environment and space i worked in, i will get some more pictures tomorrow and post them up, I'm pretty sure the accent colors will be flat black for the side views, door handles and step pads with a dark silver metallic for the rims and bumpers etc. will definitely be adding pictures as the process keeps on...truckin. Shoot me any questions if you got'em!
