Here is a British made 1940's ( I think) Kismet Duplex Master foot pump.
Very complex clever design, incorporating a small cylinder and piston inside a larger one. Unusual flat coil return spring. Excellent in use. Restored using Hammerite Satin Silver and black, and smooth red. Many hours buffing the brass and steel parts. New leather seals throughout. Outstanding quality pump. I can't imagine what these would cost to make if they were still available today!

Lovely job!

I have one of these as well, as yet unrestored, that belonged to my Dad! He bought it new, in the 50's I think. Undoubtedly the most efficient foot pump I've ever used!

Sadly, the original tyre connector has been lost! Other than that it still functions superbly!

I know it's a cliche, but they don't make 'em like that anymore!
