Kitchen floor question

Maybe someone can help here , I have a vinyl floor in the house that has a couple tears in it. Until I can replace it I want to glue down and seal so no one trips and to keep dirt out the best I can.
Its a floating type perimiter glue .
Thought I'd do a lil homework before I stop by the hardware store.

Pretty good considering it was a tear . I think no matter what it will be visible
and dirt will collect there . I just want to do my best at making mama happy till I can re-do the whole floor.(couple years ?)

Vinyl is cheap... Why not just replace it for a hundred or two...

Thats a good point , however that would require pulling out the fridge, dishwasher, the island with the stove (to do it right , you'd have to see it)
Its one piece that runs thru the kitchen, dining room and hallway !
so when the shop project is closer to done , she gets her garage done ,THEN the kitchen and it'll all be tile when we redo . And the funny part it was (is)
new .
