Kitchen Hood vent problem

So once upon a time, there was a builder, who remodeled a kitchen, installed a new microwave with range vent on the underside. All appearances were normal. Duct work look fine, but something was wrong. Air would vent from between the cabinets. 10 years past, and the dutiful husband who happens to be skilled and handy looked inside the exterior 6” round exhaust and what did he see? But the 10” ventilation from the cabinet above the microwave not connected to the 6” round duct exiting the side of the house.
There were several reasons for this. The builder failed to account for height differences in the cabinetry with regard to alignment to the 6” exhaust. Things that make you say hmmmmmmm.
So, I would attach a photo, but I do not have enough posts here yet. Understandably, I am trying to adapt 10” ductwork to a non-standard offset to 6” round. To make matters worse I don’t have much room to work with.
Any genius suggestions?

Really need pics to see exactly what you have, I'm assuming 10x3.25" duct off the hood and a 6" vent out the wall. How much room you have to work with will depend on what you can do.

10" is an odd size to me but I'd imagine you could find an adapter pretty easily. In a pinch you could build a box and until 10" in one side and 6" in the other. Not ideal though.

I found an adapter at habitat. I am going to open up the wall inside the kitchen to access this area and get better pictures. I was told there is a elbow adapter that will help me line up with the 6”

10x3.25 is a common duct size off of small vent hoods and microwaves with vent fans. Adapters are readily available, as you found, and you can probably use an adjustable 6" elbow or 2 to create your offset. Those can go anywhere from zero to 90 degrees and you can stack them to make offsets.
