Kitchen in the cave

Has anyone seen or have pictures of a full kitchen in a man cave built with shop cabinets or toolboxes instead of normal kitchen cabinets? I was looking at some of the shop storage options on Sam's club web site with an eye toward finding a way to do this nicely. There would be full kitchen that opens into a great room with TV and sofas separated by a bar top for eating. I was trying to figure out how to do the kitchen sink. Pictures would be welcome...

Not in kitchens, but I have personally seen tool storage carts repurposed for use in a barber shop/beauty salon and also in a kid's room as a dresser.

I bet your idea would provide a nice result!

There is a lady here who transformed a Craftsman bottom roller cab into a bathroom vanity sink and only lost a little of the top drawer. Pretty sweet looking, I think a kitchen done right would be awesome!

I think the OP is asking about a kitchen located in the garage. Seems like an awful waste of space unless you're trying to avoid going to the house. Personally, I wouldn't bother.

Yeah, I can attest to the fact that restaraunts kitchens do, in fact, use tool cabinets. I've never seen a cook use them as part of their mise en place, they usually cut a bakery cooling rack in half and stick it under their table and use sheet pans as drawers.

It's just a communal chest for everyone. We just had a stainless steel Husky top & bottom cabs that held everything from ISI whippers, metal spats, attachments for mixers, knives, and measuring cups. If you have the money, it doesn't have to take up space. I've always dreamed of a 48" undercounter cooler, a wall mounted salamander, a portable induction cooktop, and a standalone oven in my garage.

I should clarify about the kitchen location. The building is a shop on a completely stand alone piece of land. It is large enough that inside will be a completely walled in area that is 18'x30' with a full bathroom, kitchen and great room. Think muscle car club house for hanging, watching races, talking cars, ect.. The kitchen and the great room are separated by a bar top for sitting and eating at. I was going to use standard Home Depot cabinets and stuff, but then started thinking about the whole toolbox kitchen thing and wondered if someone had gone before me on this type of project. I was thinking about inexpensive tool boxes with butcher block counter top over them.

My concern about using toolboxes would be the height of the drawers. Most of the drawers in the toolboxes tend to be pretty shallow (vertically) since they are designed for things like wrenches and similar tools. I am assuming you want to store things like cookware and dishes, not just utensils, right?

I was trying to figure out how to do the kitchen sink.

A couple of options for sinks are an old Gas BBQ Cylinder (LPG?), just be careful when cutting it in half.
The other is an old Beer Keg. You can use Beer taps for the water too, although you might get some disgruntled punters getting water, not beer

I seem to remember seeing a picture where somebody had Lista cabinets in their kitchen, but I can't find the picture now.

You could use standard cabinets and do fronts and doors/drawers that mimick tool box fronts. I have seen this done on refirgs, some of which are on this forum.

I considered using a roll away bottom cabinet, cutting the top out and using a self sealing rim drop in sink. If you Google toolbox sink a couple come up. I think it would be pretty easy using base and wall cabinets to create a kitchen. Ultimately I ended up using a vanity that has a top that looks like a cars metal flake paint for the bowl.

I don't have a full kitchen in mine but I do have a fridge and a microwave.
