So my wife has been great about my obsession with quality tools for the garage and her Bday is coming up... So I need some ideas for the PBSwiss, Festool, Snapon of the kitchen world.

She already has a great knife set that I brought her back from from Tsjuki in Japan, a bunch of LeCruset stuff, industrial kitchenaid mixer, Vitamix, Juicer.... so I need some ideas. Anyone make some really high-end baking stuff? Not too worried about the cost as I get to reap the benefits of great cooking...

I'd be headed to a Williams Sonoma store if you have one near you. We go to the restaurant supply stores also on occasion. They will have a lot of very good stuff, but then also much of it is built just to be cheap and look nice. Check out robot-coupe, damn pricey but that's your Festool for the kitchen.

Edit: just wanted to comment on the kitchenaid accessories. My wife hasn't used any that I've gotten her more than once, and I didn't think much of the quality/price. She loves the mixer itself, but even there I don't think they're as solid as they once were.

Foodsaver vacuum pack system is nice to keep food fresh for months. Also maybe a basket of spices/seasonings? I recently bought some Williams Chili Seasoning, and it's awesome. I'll never go back to McCormick again.

Allclad pots and pans are always nice, how sharp are her knives maybe getting them sharpened professionally would be nice.

x3 on the cast iron, I recently aquired a Griswold griddle that fits perfectly over 2 burners front to back, eggs, bacon, and toast all in one shot and fresh hot off the stove top. We have about 10 pieces, all but a couple are older. And speaking of the Big Green Egg, you haven't had spaghetti sauce or chili until you've had it simmering in a Dutch oven with the top off inside a BGE. We use cast iron almost every time we possibly can.
A Big Green Egg would be an awesome gift, though you're going to definitely lay down some green, but well worth it.

Here's a chicken I butterflied and smoked over apple wood a couple months ago.

Yep, 12" cast iron pan. Griswold on eBay, or new Lodge isn't horrible. Probably my most used pan. Cast iron griddle is nice too.

I liked the Rubbermaid 9.5" scraper so much I bought another one, had them for years and use nearly every day...

Nordic Ware natural aluminum baking sheets are made really well, don't warp like lesser sheets. I use both 1/2 & 1/4 sheets

Everyone has a recipe that uses ground meat. Browning it and crumbling it into small equal sized pieces is not always easy. Here this proper tool.

An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
In my wife's tool drawer has a set of pink Matco screwdrivers along with a comprehensive set of tools. Beyond that get your wife one of the pink Kyocera ceramic chefs knife for cutting greens, fruits and vegetables, since this knife doesn't leave metallic ions your food will taste better.

Beyond that a few pieces my wife loves is her AllClad CopperCore, DeMeyere Atlantis frypans and saucier pans, Technavorm Moccamaster and her La Marzocco Linea Mini expresso machine are used daily.

AllClad is great and American made to boot. The Goldtouch line of baking pans exclusive to Williams Sanoma is American made with American steel.

Hey guys some great suggestions here so far thanks! She has the cast iron and pans covered as she has a full set of Le Creuset. That stuff makes all of my Festool purchases look cheep!

I found these pans' 12"x18". used at a business going out of sale. I got 10 or 15 of them and thought that I was going to use them in the shop. The women in the family got all of them I think. These pans and the Kitchenaid mixer are the best investments I have made. My wife is well known for her sourdough rolls and cinnamon rolls. Our oldest son owns a construction company and will call and ask for a couple of pans of C rolls to reward/motivate his crew at times.

You sound full up on stove top cookware but a carbon steel skillet is nice to gift for someone already familiar with cast iron seasoning. Matfer Bourgeat and DeBuyer are two to look at although I found a pair of Lodge carbon steel pans (CRS10, CRS12) on clearance and use them almost exclusively now.

As far as bakeware goes, natural aluminum of a decent gauge (to avoid warping) will last a lifetime. Vollrath (Wear-Ever) sheets and pans are thicker (~13ga) than Nordic Ware but both are very solid. NordicWare just started selling a line (Prism) of bakeware with fluted bottoms, similar to USA Pan's signature design, that look especially nice.

I'm not huge into gadgets, having mostly carved my own wood utensils, but LamsonSharp makes a nice slotted fish turner and I love both my balloon whisk and potato masher by Best Manufacturers out of Portland.

Get her a sandwich maker. Then when you are watching tv you can ask her, "Hey Honey, how's that sandwich maker working out for you? Grab me a beer too."

My wife keeps a strap wrench for opening jar lids. And she really likes the Milwaukee scissors.

Bread machine? My wife bought one at Goodwill for $5. Then upgraded to a really nice one and I bought her the grain mill for making flour. We have fresh bread a couple of times a week.

An inexpensive option that is used daily at our house is the spoonula - combination spatula and spoon.
