Hi,

I picked these up at a flee market: Klauke K74/2. I don't have an immediate need for crimping bnc connectors, but the thing was only 10 bucks, heavy and well built; you know how it goes :p

I was thinking of putting a different die set in there (specifically for unisolated terminals and ferrules), but the Klauke branded dies are really expensive and not too easy to obtain.

Does anyone know if dies by other manufacturers will fit the Klauke, it all looks fairly standard by me, but I don't want to end up spending €40 on a die set that's off by a fraction of a mm and doesn't fit.

Thanks as always!

Thanks Monte!! Maybe I could track them down somewhere and get a somewhat better price. Do you think the Knipex/Rennsteig dies could fit?

Thanks a lot for that information, Monte!! I'll try to find some garant dies (they are usually cheaper).

For the sake of completion, if anybody else has the same question: Knipex dies (at least the traditional red-blue-yellow insulated dies) don't fit the Klauke pliers. Went to a local shop with my inbus keys and asked them if I could unscrew the dies and try them out :)
