I grabbed a new needle nose, cheap flush cut, and a magnetic 11-in-1 to try out. I didn't even think to look at hole saws, might have to check those out as well.

Klein offers a dizzying array of different "plier" type tools. I'm building out my tool set as a first time home owner and I know I need a bunch of stuff, but I have no idea where to even start.

Needle nose, linemans, diagonal cutters and wire strippers. That will take care of 90% of what a typical homeowner will do. Picking up a receptacle tester and non-contact voltage tester for less than $20 is also a smart move.

Personally I prefer the Southwire NCVD over many other brands. Receptacle testers are a dime a dozen so get whatever's cheap. Agree on the rest and highly recommend the Klein Kurve version of strippers. I have the NM ones as well as the standard ones. By far the most comfortable I've used. The auto strippers are nice but not necessary unless you are working with connectors and need a consistent strip length for a lot of wires.

Home depot "delivered" my order. Never got it. Called HD and was on hold for 30 minutes while they tried to find it. I gave up and hung up. Shipping and customer service really ***** from everyone lately.
Not sure if it's the norm, but I had an exceptional experience from HD online customer service a few days ago.

what do you guys think are klein's best tools? i mean this of course taking into account comparable offerings from other top tool brands (including other countries)!
i have a couple of their dykes and like them a lot. probably even more than my NWS fantasticos.

1/4" and 5/16" bit pass-thru ratchet. holder is a little shallow but the magnet is strong. reversing switch is a little stiff and notchy but it will loosed up or i'll take it apart and clean it one of these days. finger loop holder end is useful when doing repetitive work, like when using datacomm scissors.
