Good morning all, back in 2000 I picked up a pair of Klein needle nose from the now defunct Tri-State Electronic in Mount Prospect, IL. That was before I started my apprenticeship and was hard up for both tools and cash and these pliers were on clearance in the tool section of the store. They were old even back then, in the classic Klein tools cardboard box that had some shelf wear to it. They really haven’t had a whole lot of use over the years and I kind of forgot about them. Recently I noticed how odd the part number is (C565775) compared to the couple dozen or so other Klein pliers I own. I tried to search some old tool catalogs I found online, the typical google search and even reached out to Klein. I haven’t had any luck on to why these have a special part number vs the modified D203 (-6H2)/(-6) series these appear to be. Any old telco or electrical tool collectors on here that can shed some light on what’s special about the part # of these pliers? Possible special run for a utility or company kind of like Kleins bell system pliers? Thanks!

All, just an update to anyone who is reading this thread. Klein just got back to me on this. Seems the mystery is solved. It was a custom ordered tool. Snip from Kleins email is below. Pretty cool of them to respond back. Seems to be just old enough to be vintage...

“Per our Product Support team, “This product was a special-order tool – not in any catalog. The "K" date code dates to 1998. As I recall it was modified from a 203 series forging”
