I picked up two Klein lineman pliers today, one is 8 1/2 inches, one is 9 3/4 inches, only marks on either one is M Klein and Sons, Chicago Illinois. They do have different corporate stampings. Is there any way to date these? Other thoughts?? Thanks,

Are there letters or numbers on the inside of the handles? If so, those are date codes. Check this thread for more information.

Thanks for the reply, a little scraping and I can see letters. Looks lke KIR on one, and EIN on the other. More cleaning should help. Luckily these appear to be in great spade, no nicks in the cutting edges, etc. I undestand they make rubberized handles for these older tools...not sure I like that however. Anyone added rubberized handles??
