Anyone else have one of these? :D

I've got actual metal tool boxes but I remember when I first came across this I found it to be a pretty cool "old fashion" style tool bag!

Here's mine.....

I've tried using tool bags and they didn't work out for me, everything falls to the bottom of the bag and gets hard to find. I find they work best when used for test equipment in plastic boxes.

I don't like that particular bag, gets too dirty too fast. I would never use it, or any of the several 'giveaway' bags i get with tools, since they have no shape to them. Too easy for everything inside to become a jumbled mess.

I do have a few stanley (one says fatmax, one says bostitch) bags and they're ok because they have more shape than that one. POCKETS are necessary for a bag to be useful to me, and it's something that bags are better than boxes for. Otherwise it's all boxes for me.

I have one at work to hold my hooks and climbing belt in. They are a very nice high quality bag.

That canvas bag you have is called a mason bag. It meant for mason tools like trowels and pointers
Bigger items that are easier to fine in a open mouth bag. Cool bag and made in the USA too. For me I would be driven mad looking for a tool though

Also an owner of one, I use it as my vehicle tool kit. I have 8 Klein zipper pouches in it.

If my memory serves me, these are the colors and the contents:

Brown Leather - Ratchets
Grey - Sockets
Black - Wrenches
White - Screwdrivers
Red - Pliers
Yellow - Tarp
Sm. Yellow - Gloves
Sm. Red - Electrical

I also carry the canvas klien bag. Use daily. It contains my screwdrivers, multimeter and clamp meter. Also my snappy 8" adjustable my slip joint, needle nose, adjust. joint, dykes and linesman. It comes with me to every job. I like it for weight. My wrenches, sockets and ratchets are stored in a 20" metal hand box. I do not let the canvas accumalate junk, and only tools above mentioned belong in it. LOVE IT! Biggest plus is that it is durable and light wieght, does the job for me. And when this one falls apart I will get another.

I also have half a dozen zipper pouches that keep stuff together. I am always on the road and do not have the lux. of a roll cab, but my tools need to come with me, so leaving them in a tool box in the truck does not work. I have several hand boxes that carry all my tools, i need to be mobile.

Yep, I have about a half dozen of those full of Brick and Stone tools. Some Klein some other brands. Stone chisels, brick and stone hammers. They work great for Mason tools. You have to dump them out and clean them about once a month because they get full of sand from the mortar.

I use a husky tool bag from HD. For some reason I have found them to be the best. I have the 14in with the "tool wall". It holds just about every hand tool I need and more. The only draw back is the bottom or middle is not as useful for your drill. I carry a separate bag for my drills and lights.

I use that exact bag every day doing commercial/industrial electrical. I love it. I personally can't stand the bags with all of the little pockets lining the inside.

I use the four colored Klein bags for wrenches, nut drivers/allens, bits, and pencils/markers. Everything else thrown in the main bag, never any trouble finding stuff...

I have an old Bucket Bros canvas tool bag. Unlike that one it has pockets on all sides to keep stuff organized. The heavy cotton handle is comfortable to hold and not so annoying to rub against when climbing through cramped places. main disadvantage is the cream colored canvas gets dirty really quick( suppose I could throw it in the washer though). Other main disadvantage is that the canvas holds moisture. I had the bag stored in a humid basement for a while. Some of the steel tools that were stored in the pockets got rusted while stuff stored in the open interior seemed to have far less of a problem. Probably not as much of a problem for masonry tools though since thy get wet in the course of use.
