I didnt think we produced steel here.

I just bought a Klein wire stripper for small gauges yesterday at Home Depot to match my other pair. Luckily it was still made in USA.

New one is on the left. Both are made in USA.

Funny, I was just looking at pretty much the exact same thing at my local HD and they were made in taiwan.

Was there to look for a set of Insulated screw drivers, but at $22 each for the Klein ones, I opted for a Chinese made set for $12.

For how infrequently I'll be using them, I couldn't justify spending 4x as much.

20% of the world's population, 50% of the world's production. makes sense to me. particularly considering that rate at which their industry is expanding since allowing some sort of capitalism.

20% correlates to 50% now? And they're expanding on the backs of American and European workers, who are all sitting on 10% + unemployment rates.

Those locking pliers are not a Klein manufactured product; they are rebranded ViseGrips. Irwin moved the production of ViseGrips offshore.

The Klein 11057 (20-30 gauge) was around $16. Not bad and I wanted it because it was made in USA. I rarely use it, but i'll be keeping it for a while. It was not in the normal section with the rest of the Klein. It was in the cable and telecom section next to wear they sell F connectors, cheap crimpers, etc. Took me a while to find it since I checked their stock online and knew they had it.

~10% of the global total is made by ArcelorMittal, with Mittal having started in India, and used dodgy tactics to buy-and-close competitors globally.

I'm gonna bump this one back to the top. Do you guys know anything about the Klein combination wrenches? What's the COO? I have a couple of older wrenches by Klein, a 7/16's & a 1/2" I picked up at a garage sale last year. These were the only two at the sale, the rest had been picked thru. I haven't seen any like this. I think they might be early production.

Anyways, my brother is a manager with Home Depot & he's been hitting me up for Christmas gift ideas. I would like to have a full set of these wrenches, granted they're still made in the U.S. of A.

Thanks for the reply Stephen. After a quick look over on Alloy Artifacts, it appears you are correct. They were definitely made by Bonney.

Good wrenches. I wish I had a full set :)
