What are you guys using these for, that a normal pair of wire strippers won't cut? I recently installed an electric heater with 10/2 wire on a 30A breaker, so I can't think of anything much bigger that you would need these for.

Well, I did a garage heater (6 ga) and moved my electric range plug (8 ga) both in the past 6 months. I had to use a utility knife for those jobs. I'm going to put another plug in my garage for my welder (8 ga) soon. So for $8 it saves me the hassle of messing with the knife again.

These are excellent for commercial jobs, as most wire is specked to min 12 AWG or larger. I bought a few pairs of these from Home Depot for the same price.

I bought one of these last year.

I hardly ever use it as the 12 AWG hole is oversized. This makes it very time consuming to strip with and kills my productivity.

You could say the bonus is that you don't have to worry about nicking the strands.
