I've been using this Jensen presumably rebranded from Klein needle nose since 2000 and it's held up fine. It's one pair of pliers that will not get upgraded to anything else. Image%20(4).jpgImage%20(5).jpg

Sometimes i think it comes down to personal preference for a particular task. i have Klein, Channellock & Knipex, but think you shouldn't overlook NWS and Proto as well. The Proto's are US Made as well.

The picture (from measuretwice on the last page) from 2018 actually shows you part of the issue some havbe with Knipex needlenose - they are a "thinner" plier than their domestic cousins... however, in some applications, I like having a pair of pliers I don't have to take to a grinder to get into a tight spot... knowing they aren't necessarily the best thing for pulling drum brake springs, I have heavier equipment for the likes of that.

Back to the OP - I like Klein Tools, heck, if they were good enough for Ma Bell for a more than a few decades, they're good enough for me.

:deadhorse with this but Knipex just put up a vid. They insist that flexibility is a desirable feature.

Why they don't make a heavy-duty 8" needlenose when it's clearly a very popular design is beyond me. :dunno:

I have several pair but really rarely use needle nose. My dad got me a couple long pair, one with bent thingy from a flea, they work well and use them on occasion. It was unique enough I caught myself looking for a common pair the other day, cant even recall what for.

I also recommend the Klein pliers.

I have a pair of Klein needle nose pliers that are probably older than me. And last time I was in Home Depot, you can still get the same ones. The convenience of picking it up at a store is nice.

Like mentioned before, it really matters what they are used for.

I purchased a couple knipex needle nose and was PISSED when I saw how flexible they were. They make different types of needle nose, so pay attention to serration, lengths, etc. I then did more research and purchased a set of Klein Jorneymans. They have no flex.
Before sending the knipex back, I decided to test them against the Kleins. Surprisingly enough, the flex IS GOOD in the knipex. Because of the flex, the knipex actually grip most smaller items BETTER than the Kleins. I ended up keeping them and actually use them as much or more than the Klein. It boils down to this...

Smaller stuff- Knipex (nicer in hand, lighter, get in more places). Again, Knipex makes many different needle nose, so pay attention to what you order. I like my set that has crosshatched serrations. It is a slightly "heavier duty" needlenose than most the other Knipex but still has plenty of flex. I also have a set with only straight serrations but this is much more flexible than the crosshatched set.

Heavy duty stuff- Klein (well made, heavy duty, no flex)
