I was wondering if anyone has had experience with klutch tools from Northern Tools... More specifically the

3/8 Air pressure regulator combo.

Are their tools quality?

Klutch is simple generic stuff sold under lotso brands. well proven. Looks great to me, the size is right for general garages and tools. Too big is a problem.

Ok... That's good to hear. Ingersoll was also an option... I'm switching everything over to high flow and going 1/2 inch pipe and reducing down to 3/8 for my fittings

I would be concerned about the 145 psi max limit and polycarbonate bowl. Are they rating that at inlet or outlet? Also, the night drain can sometimes be a headache. One with a float usually works better. This one will only drain when the outlet pressure drops (if you have leaks or manually let the pressure out). I am sure about sberry's comment about too big is a "problem". It may not be needed, but I'm not sure where the problem comes from.

Ok, what would be a better brand or choice for an air regulator.

When you say size, do you mean the size of the actual unit being a "problem"? and what is the problem?

The thing is a centrifuge of sorts. If the air velocity is too slow it doesn't fling the drops out. Big huge filters that have a tiny bit of air going thru do not work as well as one sized to match the actual demand.
As for plastic bowl,,, go knock one off with a hammer and see why it probably doesnt matter.

Home Depot had some. Seems it cost about the same. I bought a Menards cause it was plumbed 1/2 but don't like it as well as a couple other ones, it always leaked a little.
This combo got tossed on when we built the building, then the first pic is a remodeled version stripped to the very basics of whats needed. This one has a service valve local to it. Only use is this reel.

One night I am standing around watching the news and pop, bowl breaks right off. I think I found some parts and made it fit, thought I was going to have to get new but salvaged and service another old one.
It sounded like unplugging 50 ft of air hose when it happened.
