I did a search, and one thread in this topic several months ago with only 7 replies. Nothing in any other topic.

Northern has them on sale again, and I'm considering buying a couple. 3/8" x 50'. $79.99.

Are there any more users that can give an opinion?
Thanks!

In my shop I have one self-retract reel with a 50' hose and one hand crank reel with a 50' hose. I prefer the hand crank reel. It always reels out to the exact length I need.:rocker:

I don't have it but the thing is probably alright. Its a generic deal sold under several brands. I have hand and auto, I don't mind hand and its fine in reach, if you want overhead you want retractor.

OK, is the retracting reel one of the brand in question?

Drag, both my reels are HF. I don't believe there are any differences in any of the reels that sell for less than about $90. I paid $59 on "sale" at HF for the retract including the hose and (IIRC) $29 for the hand crank without the hose.

I got mine from Harbor Freight several years ago and have had no problems with it. I suspect the one from Northern Tools is pretty much the same quality.
