Klutch angle grinder holder

Anyone seen this? I searched but doesn't look like it's come up before. Essentially turns your angle grinder into a mini chop saw. Similar to the stands that make your drill a drill press or portaband a horizontal bandsaw, but in this case I'm surprised the attorneys let it go through:

Capacity at 45 will be dismal.

Not saying it's a good idea, I'm just surprised. Someone will not clamp the grinder, frag a wheel and lose an eye......then sue

For the cost of that + the cost of a grinder your not far from an actual chop saw

If all you are doing is arts and craft stuff with small diameter stock I guess I could see it.

Agreed but

1. It has a guard so they did their "due diligence"

2. Gonna be real hard to sue the whole country of China.

I just ordered one. It looks like I could use that for the little things that are hard to clamp in the big one. I used to use a very small chop saw at work, this should satisfy my itch.

I did order one of these way back (I have no idea why so don't ask LOL)

Just tonight I took time to cut open the plastic wrapper around the box & put it together. While it's all cheap casting and even cheaper hardware, I'm actually surprised and somewhat impressed at the engineering that went into this so it can accept virtually any 4.5" grinder.

I'm also surprised that it actually stays up w the weight of a Fuel and 9.0.

I cut some 5/8x16ga square and it was nice to use. I then cut some 1"x14ga sq and it will just make it w a fresh disc. A 5" disc would do it easily.

While I'll truthfully probably use this once every 3 years it could have its place in certain applications.

We cut the 1/2" overhead cable on our packers with cutoff tool, we also use that to cut the 7/8" Cables on our Rolloff trucks. Cuts through like butter only takes 30 seconds for 1/2" about a minute for 7/8".

It looks like it'd be very useful for certain kinds of stock. I can imagine it's a very affordable way to cut SMALL stainless stock.

I've had one for a few years. I've mentioned it here before. I have three cheap HF angle grinders, one I keep with a cutoff wheel, one with a grinding wheel, and one with a cutoff in a Klutch angle grinder holder for use as a mini chop saw.

It didn't cost much (~$25), wasn't hard to set up, and it does what it's supposed to. It holds the grinder securely and works great to cut a 90 degree cut in small tubing or bar/rod stock whenever i need to.

Can't think of anything that can do that my steady hand and laser eyeball couldn't do faster.

Seems like a bargain to me.
I can use it to cut cromolly shafting using the diamond cutoff blade.
Right now I do it by hand but it would be nice to get them more square

I actually used mine most recently with a diamond cutoff to cut a whole bunch of acrylic tubing for a massive watercooled PC build for my nephew. It's essential that the cuts on the tubing be cut perfectly square and clean or else the fittings are liable not to seal properly (and a failed fitting on >$5000 worth of electronics can spoil your day) and this worked waaaay better than cutting them with a hacksaw by hand which was what was recommended.

I mounted the Milwaukee Steelhead blade and now no reduction in diameter = no reduction in cutting size. I used it to cut some rolled/radius'ed 1" sq that I couldn't easily get into my 7x12. Worked fine.

edit: also it appears the cast base is 1" high, so some drops of 1" sq did nicely to support my work.

I bought one
Mounted a spare grinder with a diamond blade on it.
Decent for the money but I'm not super impressed
But for cutting smaller hard materials it works
