Long time looker first time poster. Was looking at my sales flyer from Northern and saw this set is on sale. It seems fairly complete for someone just tarting out(which would be me). It has some things that i dont see in many other tool sets such as crows feet, line wrenches, and bit sockets. I am wondering if anyone has experience with this set or any other klutch hand tool. seems to have mostly good reviews on their site.

I have the crowfoot wrenches, both straight and flare nut. They are good quality and have worked well. I also have the Cr-moly impact sockets and have no complaints. They seem to be a step above Craftsman and Harbor freight. I've looked at the wrench and socket sets in store and would purchase them if i need them. I don't see how a person just starting out could go wrong with these. They are Taiwan/China made.

I second their crowfoot flare nut wrenches, they've worked great for me!

I have 2 sets of the same ones in your link ,only they are marked Northern and
I will tell you you can't go wrong for the money. I have owned them quite a
few years and use them almost exclusively instead of my "name brand" tools,
thinking "if I break them I'll move to my good tools". I've yet to break or
strip out one after working on tractors , dozers , excavators and anything else
you can think of. I would highly recommend them.

I needed a set of long reach metric combo wrenches so I went with the Klutch set. very happy with them. I feel they are better quality then the same set at HF and they didn't skip sizes. Have bought many a tool from Northern and have always been pleased with the company as a whole.

Get some coupons and get another $20 off that price. Have several Northern branded tools and have no complaints.

I've no experience with Klutch tools so I can't comment there, but the set looks pretty nice as it includes most of the "wrench type" tools you'll need and isn't loaded up with a lot of miscellaneous seldom-used fluff like some tool sets include.

Of course, you'll have to add all the miscellaneous pliers (channel locks, needle nose, vise grips, side-cuts, etc.), a hammer or two, a pry bar or two, some punches and chisels, and probably a couple more screwdrivers, but with those additions you should be able to hit-the-ground running! There are dozens of threads here on GJ that list "needed", and "recommended" tools for starting out building a tool set, so search some of them out for more suggestions. You'll need to include these items in your tool budget plan.

The Lowes set is not as complete as the Klutch set.
Overall the Klutch set is a better deal.
Buy the Klutch set- we checked socket for socket and wrench for wrench-the Klutch set is more complete and a better value.
Both have lifetime guarantees

I've got the Klutch 1/2" socket set and the long wrench set. I really like the long combination set, haven't had enough use to judge the socket set but like it so far. Subscribe to the catalog and there are coupons, $5 off of $15 etc. I've used those for ship to store and gotten some nice clearance items. You can use the code online as many times as you like but in store they take it from you.
