Klutch vs Pittsburgh Pro impacts

I have the shallow and deep metric Pittsbugh Pro impacts and an generally satisfied. I have a motley assortment of shallow SAE that will do. I have no SAE deep impacts. The Pitts. Pro set only goes to 1". The Klutch set looks very similar but includes 1 1/16, 1 1/8 and 1 1/4. The list price is the same, both also warrantied for life, both CrMoly.. The Pro at -20% plus sales tax vs the Klutch with shipping does not have a big enough difference to buy the three biggest sockets separately. My question is about the quality of Klutch. It seems to be their better line ; similar to Pitts. Pro., but I have never bought anything from them. Are they OK or should I pass? The regular Pittsburg set is also 13 pieces but I am not interested in the lower quality set and I dislike the tappered ends on the small sizes on the cheap CrV sets.

For impact sockets it doesn't really matter where you get them from. The high end ones like Snap on might be slightly thicker and will wear down slower. The cheap ones will wear down faster. Either way impact sockets usually break if you beat on them after they are worn down and it doesn't happen that often. Go with whatever has less size skips and weigh the cost difference.

I have never used Klutch tools but I would bet they are about the same quality as Pitts Pro.

This is a nice set.

It sure is but it is a lot more than I need. I just want to fill in. I am looking at 41410. I should probably hit a few flea markets first. There is plenty of SAE around. My needs are just DIY but I avoid real low end junk. There are a few gems along with the junk at HF, as we have endlessly discussed.

The current Klutch offerings are somewhat different than what I own.

But I have an older Klutch 64 pc impact set from the past and have beat on it regular, I never had any issues with the stuff. And no regrets from buying NT then.

I also have some of the other HF impact in 1/2" not the "pro" and although there is really nothing wrong with it, I do favor the Klutch they fit on the anvils tight. Most everything I have from HF it does not, including the extension bars

I have a neighbor who uses the Pittsburgh branded impacts. He seems to like them and never has complained.

I personally would suggest sunex brand impacts. I have multiple sets and have had no complaints. They are not terribly expensive .

I bought a klutch impact socket set for my road box. I compared directly to HF since I wanted to go on the cheap. I have a northern store so I went with klutch because there is no skips in the set sizes and they have open stock sockets. Haven't broke one so I'm happt.

Actually to me it seems like the opposite. The more expensive tool truck brands seem to have thinner walls for more access but maybe don’t last as long as cheaper socket sets. Pittsburgh pros will probably last longer than snap on however we know snap on will be around forever.

With HF opening 3 stores or better per week I don't think they are going any place, either. But I never buy anything there that I have concerns about future support. There is virtually none.
