Found this set in the bottom of a toolbox on one of our old tractors. It is a Kmart set made in Japan. Anybody know anything about them? When were they made? Are they of decent quality? The ratchet looks almost identical to an old Truecraft/Japan I have.

Without using it and seeing it up close, I cant say for sure, but I've had kits almost identical over the years. Got these as Christmas/Birthday gifts from aunts/uncles/etc and they were all terrible (though I am eternally grateful for the thought) They came in a cheap metal case, had some round plastic disc with ridges on the edge that slipped over the square drive of the ratchet because the action was so course that it would only ratchet for rusty bolts. After a few uses, they would only work in one direction, unless you turned the center part just right. Soon after it would just spin in both directions. Chrome flaked off the sockets before the first use. Of course, like yours, they were marked "professional."

Thanks for the replies and links. I guess I should have searched the forum first. I wasn't planning on using these, I just wanted to find out a little more about them before I put them up.
