I have a Victorinox Swiss Tool, used almost daily for the last five years or so and still looks and performs brand new.

I carry a Leatherman Skeletool on a daily basis. I like that fact that I can carry it clipped in my pocket like a folding knife and the blade is easily accessible. The pliers seem a little wimpy, but have worked fine all of the times I have used them so far. If I am doing a "real" job, I go get real tools.

As far as multi-tools go, the Skeletool doesn't have many extra accessories, but on the for my purposes, the compactness and ease of carry more than makes up for the lack of gizmos.

SKELETOOL FTW!

1. It's a knife first
2. It has everything you really need, nothing you don't.
3. Small enough to be comfy clipped to your pocket.
