Looking for a good knife that takes single-edged razor blades.

Maybe a step up from a simple box cutter...

Thx!

I like my Milwaukee. Flips open one handed, store extra blades, easy to change blades and has a wire stripper. Also inexpensive.

I think you guys didn't catch that OP is looking for a knife that uses single edge RAZOR blades, not utility knife blades.

Yeah, if I understood the OP, he's not looking for a folding utility knife.

I've got both styles in the attached ebay pic (correct me if this isn't what you're looking for). The smaller all chromed steel slider is fine for kitchen drawer duty cutting packing tape, zip ties, and whatnot. The larger wood- handle version seems like it would be great cutting cloth or paper with a straightedge on a mat, but I don't use mine- it's squirreled away in a box somewhere at the moment. I've still got a ton of blades left.

ETA, I don't use it because almost always I've got a utility knife (non- folding for me thanks) with a fresh blade handy, which works fine for me.

FWIW, when I was painting years ago I used a basic sliding scraper for utility knife stuff, and it worked fine, with the advantage of having the entire edge exposed. If a corner was roached from cuttting against a hard surface, the middle could still cut thin plastic sheet, tape, etc.

I am looking for a knife that uses single edged razor blades.

They are rectangles, not trapezoids. The angle is 90 degrees from blade to sides.

This is NOT a recommendation. But are you looking for something like this?

the Red Devil could work - might be a devil of a time rummaging for it in a loose tool drawer tho...

Pretty sure I have a few spare wood handled ones like the ebay pic if you are interested in that style...

I have a couple of the Hyde ones that Made in USA pictured. Not my favorite ergonomically, but they hold the blade securely and generally work well.

Don't ask.

Unfortunately a step up from simple box cutter is also a step up from single edge razor blades.:dunno:
Many years ago I had a rubber (or plastic) sleeve that fit over the simple box cutters. Might be a nice little 3-D printer project.

I know it’s not what you asked but I have switched to the snap blade knives. Just used one to cut drywall for a bathroom remodel. Worked better than I thought it would.
