Just received my Knipex order today, as well! A bit dirty, but everything looks new.

If you're missing something and you don't have a credit memo email, you need to call. I called to inquire and they told me the 2nd item was OOS. They issued me a credit of course.

Actually saw a member mention something on a different thread about this deal, popped over last Monday and placed a order.

Got a lil worried, but 100% full filled, all for maybe 3-4 of these at reg pricing. Thanks OP

My second order arrived today with everything I ordered (cobolts, snap ring plier set, pipe wrench). Curiosly, I never recieved a tracking number for the second order like I did for my first one.

I was getting a little worried, because many here have already received their orders. I was one of the first to see this thread and order a couple things, but I haven't received anything yet. Like some of you, I haven't received a shipping confirmation email or a tracking code and my order still shows as "pending" on the MDS website. However, I did just find my shipment on the FedEx website using my MDS order number as a tracking reference number.

Click on the link posted below, use your whole order number (including the three zeros at the beginning) as a reference number, enter your zip code, and set the ship date to a date around the time of your order and you should be able to find your package if it was shipped via FedEx (Mobile Distributor also uses UPS according to their site). According to FedEx, my order was shipped two days after I placed it, and it's scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

These feel like they were part of the first production run. Little surface rust on some of the red dipped ones. Plastic wrap & sleeves they come in were disengrated & stuck to on a couple. Case on the 1000v set looks well used, but tools are pristine inside.

Well, order placed on the 4th with no tracking number yet, website said "order being processed". Called their Customer Service number, they said it had been shipped on the 5th, but no movement on the tracking number. They said they'll get the warehouse to find it and overnight it to me.

Crossing my fingers!🤞

Still though, pay a premium for FedEx shipping and should have had in 2 days, maybe 3 max. USPS First Class is even faster than this. If I was even provided a tracking number I’d at least not have to worry about my stuff being in a pawn shop right now because of porch pirates. But no, they took my money in less than 24 hours PLUS shipping and 8 days later they haven’t even acknowledged my order.

Quite frankly, I’m pissed off. Not even a hint of a good first purchase from a company. This is why people buy from tool trucks.

That right there is all you need to say. FedEx is REALLY dropping the ball lately.

I ordered from Tekton Dec 20, and on December 26 FedEx texted that my package was out for delivery. That evening I got a second text stating my package was delayed.
It has sat at the distribution office in my town since the 27th, no movement, no update. They're unwilling to give me an ETA or let me pick it up. More than two weeks just sitting on their warehouse a mile away. 🙄

My mobile distributors order for these knives pliers was placed 3 days before this thread even started, and FedEx tracking simply says "delayed."

Yet USPS delivered a hammer to me, from New York, in 3 days. Twice the miles, and USPS is literally 8x faster than FedEx. And their tracking actually works.

Similar situation here (not sure where you are). I have several packages sitting at my local FedEx distribution center that are just in delay status and unable to get any info. In fact, they haven't even scanned them for the past 5 days -- before that they were at least scanning them so I knew they were still there.

Anyway, one of them is an order from Tekton that was set to be delivered on Dec 23. I contacted Tekton and explained (I'm sure they confirmed from tracking that it is "lost" at this point) and they right away dispatched a duplicate order by UPS for me. It's supposed to be here tomorrow. I recommend contacting Tekton for a faster resolution.

I love it when the box is scanned on the truck for delivery and then 23-24 hours later, they are again scanned on the truck for delivery, with this going on for several days. It's extra special when the boxes are marked perishable food that is shipped with ice packs and is designed to arrive in two days! IMO... our local Fed Ex depot has to be among the worst!

On today's to do list, is a call to Zoro. They shipped me 8 boxes, all the same thing, all at the same time. All but one arrived safely over a week ago and the tracking on that last one hasn't changed since it left Chicago.

By the way, the Knipex that I ordered from Mobil Distributor Supply arrived fine, minus the large electrician pliers that they credited me for.

Life is too short to be pissed off about slow shipping on significantly discounted high-quality tools you bought on a whim. Definitely a first-world problem.
You might be right if I was upset about the "slow shipping". Apparently I was not clear where my ire lies. It is with the company itself, not FedEx.

A simple acknowledgement of "Hey, we got your order, thanks, we'll let you know when it ships and provide a tracking number...etc. or whatever". Also, if you (as a company, not YOU specifically e80) are going to charge for a 2-3 day shipping service, then as a "first world company" you should be able to process that order. I don't buy into the whole "maybe they were overwhelmed" mantra, if you are going to run a sale, you should be prepared in advance to move what you are selling.

First world problem? Meh...not if I am buying from a first world company. Not like I ordered this stuff from Sri Lanka.

Another "also", do you (e80) know my purchasing motives? "on a whim"? How do you know this was not a very calculated purchase? I've been looking for what I bought for several months now waiting for a good deal, and I purchased specifically what I was looking for. I did not buy extra good deals just to reach the free shipping threshold, I only bought what I was looking for and had been researching and pricing for a while. How is that "on a whim"?

I agree. The company should provide updates given this time and age. But you and I are probably both old enough to remember when there was zero information and you basically just had to wait for your package after mailing in an order form with a check.

First world problem is not based on who or where you purchased from, it is turning a minor inconvenience associated with a luxury and fabricating it into some big issue.

It is a whim in the sense that you were able to sit around for several months now waiting for some deal that may or may not appear. You had the luxury of waiting for that deal and now you are looking forward to Christmas morning. You hopefully weren’t depending on it arriving 2-3 days after shipping. The very first post even questions the legitimacy of the website and many posts expressed questions as well, so we were just crossing our fingers that the sale would even go through.

As for me, I’m happy I can now cut steel wire cables without smashing them. These cutters work awesome.

FYI, you can set up free accounts with both UPS and FEDEX.
Provide your name and shipping address and THEY will alert you when a package is picked up with your address, and when it will be delivered. They also allow you to alter the shipment by selecting a vacation hold, or pickup at a local hub, should you desire.

I regularly get emails or texts about an incoming shipment before the vendor sends me the info (if they send it).

It's a great way to keep in the loop when vendors, eBay sellers, etc lack good communication.

I called them (and its a good thing I did). Give them order #, girl says they got it ready to ship on the 5th and sent the pickup order to fedex. Then says "oh wait...looks like they resubmitted the order...hold on". 9 1/2 minutes later line goes dead on their end. Call back, 3 minutes later, give them my order # again, guy says "oh wow, fedex never picked it up. I'll have it found and relabeled for fedex to pick up. sorry".

So...boo to them for lack of communication and boo to fedex for being fedex.

Hope others have a better first experience with this company. Not sure if I'll have a 2nd.

I got a little concerned from the above posts so found the track with FedEx per Tools4Me instructions (using order number for reference). It says:

Monday, January 10, 2022
11:46 PMATLANTA-PEACHTREE GA DISTRIBUTIIn transitIn transit to local Post Office - Allow two to three additional days for delivery
Wednesday, January 5, 2022
3:11 PMShipment information sent to FedEx

So I followed up with MDS and they said they would contact fedex to see why it hasn't moved since they said they shipped on the 5th (not sure of actually went out that day). What it seems like is it sat with FedEx for a week or so while they are figuring out how to get it to USPS. Typical Fedex experience for me recently.

I placed my order on January 4th and have not heard anything from them other than "order processing" when i check my order number on there website. Called today and was told my order, along with about 15 others were waiting on Fedex to pick up from there warehouse.

Similar experience with Fedex. I had a letter coming 2 day express. It disappeared at the distribution center and I thought it was lost, said package delayed. A month later out of nowhere, it just showed up. Terrible experience.

This just gets better. Now I was issued a "credit memo". What the hell is that? I sent them an email this morning, lets see what is next.

That's what they call a refund. Mine was for only one item out of the 12 I ordered. It will get credited back to your payment method.

Well, my FedEx package from MDS finally arrived. All 14 pliers/cutters accounted for.
As mentioned, some of the packaging showed some age, but tool condition is flawless.

Looks that way according to their response. I guess I'm the one on the group that got boned.

Terrible first (and last) experience.

My order got refunded (Credit Memo) as well.
Oh well. I don't totally understand the anger in this thread---if I have a shot at Knipex for 75% off, a little less customer service is OK by me---it looks like a small business and they probably got completely swamped & overwhelmed when the link was posted here.
Agreed.

Ordered on Tuesday morning and received today. Never received an order confirmation, but I'll take the product on my porch super quick!

Sure wished I had paid attention to this thread back in early January. Only thing left Tuesday was some snap ring pliers. Still a great buy, but I would have bought so much more. Oh well, saved myself from over buying.

Didn't a tornado hit a FedEx facility in Tennessee? Wonder if that affected some of the shipments. If they went thru LA on a train, good luck... saw those videos.

FedEx doesn't lose that many packages, unless a natural disaster is involved, especially involving just one business. I didn't receive notice of shipment until a email from Fedex the day prior saying I had a package on its way, so plenty of wiggle room on their end when it came to shipping. Likely the company dropped the ball, and this was the story they went with.

Based on our experience with FedEx since Covid hit nearly 2 years ago, I believe they could and do lose a lot more packages than they used to. And FedEx has become a lot more difficult to deal with when things don’t go right.
