Same part numbers, just old vs new. One of my co-workers doesn't like the new style as much, says the old style grips better. What do you guys think? Which is better?

I have 10" Cobra pliers in both the old style and the new. I haven't noticed any difference in how they grip things.

Given that the older version has a finer tooth grip configuration, it looks like it might be a bit more concise, but it's all really a mute point if the old version is NLA. Buying the new version is the only option with the exception of going on a major e-bay tool hunt down.

Will you find an old one? Likely.
Is it worth the hassle? That's up to you.

I find the design change interesting, but who's to say the new Cobra is not better, just like the new F80 ratchet is better than the older 36t or 60t units.

Just sayin'
